"I don't actually know why I started making films, I just knew that I had to."

Mary Stow

Aren't there enough films in the world already?

Not like this there aren't!

No familiar actors (in fact, no actors at all)

No professional crew (actually, no crew either)

No Hot Shot Director with letters after their name.

Just me.

And stuff happening.

"My aim is to bring an authenticity  lacking in 'staged' films, especially about illness, disability and disadvantage."

It's All In Your Head

10 Minutes of your life, 25 years of mine

It's All In Your Head

It's All In Your Head

A multi award-winning short film

Directed by Mary Stow

With music by Prof. Mosey

"I started making movies in my teens with a Super 8mm sound ciné camera. Although I've made a few short films since, I've never had any formal training or worked in the industry. My first experience of editing was splicing 8mm film, but I have since taught myself to edit digitally."

“Because I don't get out much, there's no way I can shoot a film in the conventional sense.  So I use what I come across.

Everything you see and hear in my films actually happened.”

“Losing so much made me appreciate what might otherwise have passed me by.  The remarkable people, places and things around me have become my cast, my sets and props.”

It's All In Your Head is dedicated with love and respect to all the "invisibles": the millions missing.
